Where AI Struggles: On-the-Ground Tacit Knowledge

While developing training materials for AI, I realized that AI systems tend to be structured around individual goals, making them ill-equipped to grasp the practical realities of managing group-level objectives in a real-world setting. Even when I fed the AI relevant documentation, the resulting processes were too rigid and bound by minute-by-minute scheduling; I ultimately concluded that flexible, on-the-spot adjustments by human staff were far more effective.

The same applies to sales: while AI excels at strategies leveraging social media or surveys, it lacks a deep understanding of the “gritty” side of sales—making individual visits and engaging in the kind of dialogue that uncovers deeper needs.

In short, AI is strong with “explicit knowledge” but weak when it comes to “tacit knowledge” gained through on-the-ground experience. I believe this represents a blind spot in the market—and a significant opportunity for future success.
