どこのコンサル会社出身ですか、と聞かれることがあります。地方の中小企業の営業マンでしたと話します。また、コンサルティング会社などで研修を受けたのかと問われても、答えは「独学です」。そこで一瞬、空気が止まります。
唯一学んだのは、会社員時代中小企業大学校で受けた目標管理研修で、その講師が言った「事実だけで判断してください」という言葉が、ずっと頭に残っています。長い説明でも、どこが事実なのかを探す手法が身につきました。
組織で体系的に学んだわけではありません。しかし、その枠にとらわれず、自由に考えられることこそ、強みだと思っています。

“Focusing solely on the facts”—this mindset is my starting point.
People sometimes ask which consulting firm I come from. In reality, I am simply a salesperson from a small or medium-sized regional enterprise. When asked if I underwent training at a consulting firm, my answer is, “I am self-taught.” That response often causes a momentary pause in the conversation.
The only formal training I received was a course on objective management at the Institute for Small Business Management and Technology; the instructor’s advice—”Make judgments based only on the facts”—has stayed with me ever since. I developed the ability to identify the actual facts, even within lengthy explanations.
I did not learn through a structured corporate program. However, I believe that the freedom to think outside such organizational frameworks is precisely where my strength lies.
